Because the single PCIe port handles both power and data, there’s no additional clutter from SATA data and power cables. Fully supports hot-swapping drives with its removable drive tray. Convenient Hot Swap Support MB839SP-B adds full hot-swap support over the PCIe 2.0/3.0 interface, allowing you to add or remove drives in seconds without having to shut down the computer or open the case. Hot-swap supports prevents downtime when upgrading storage or replacing a failed drive, and allows a technician to work more efficiently. Hot-Swap ready connector rated for 10,000 insertion / removal cycles allows drives to be installed, removed, and replaced without shutting down the system. Efficient Storage Solution Add an additional HDD or SSD to your desktop computer by utilizing your unused PCIe expansion slots. Using the PCIe interface lets you exceed your computers usual drive limitations by giving you an extra removable SSD/HDD drive bay. ToughArmor MB839SP-B is designed for the PCIe 2.0 and 3.0 single-channel (x1) interface, and for maximum compatibility, it’s also compatible with PCIe x4, x8, and x16 full-length PCIe slots. The Protection You Need Ruggedized full-metal chassis, tray, and mounting bracket help to ensure a long product life, and further aid in heat dissipation. An anti-vibration mechanism built into the chassis reduces noise and protects against environmental damage. Large ventilation holes on both sides of the enclosure work with your systems cooling system to keep your drives cool under load. The single-slot width is narrow enough to enable cooling even when multiple bays are installed side-by-side. MB839SP-B is equipped with a built-in LED on the tray which can show drive power/access LED light. For easier drive status monitoring, connect your computers/server drive power/access LED light to the 2-pin HDD status header (cable not included), to easily see when your drive is in use from the front of the computer. Packed with Features Utilizing the PCIe 2.0 interface allows for a huge speed improvement over older PCs and Mac Pro 2008-2012 models which only natively support SATA II speeds, allowing you to take advantage on the huge speed improvements of modern SSDs.
